Ben Crossley | Director | Contracts and Procurement
Ben provides expertise in procurement strategy, preparation of well-constructed contracts, team management, motivating project participants, and bid negotiation. Post-contract award, he provides contract administration advice, front-line skills to negotiate execution challenges, and disciplined methodologies to settle claims and disputes.
Ben’s international major projects experience spans 30 years in the energy sector and civils infrastructure for leading industry clients, engineers, and EPC contractors. Recent contributions on major projects include negotiating EPC contracts, controlled management of project enhancing changes, and fact-based productivity analysis in defence of contractor claims. He uses insights and work-front lessons learned to good effect as a training facilitator and in published articles promoting effective contracting practices. Ben’s experiences on highly distressed projects drives him to advocate the efficiencies of collaborative contracting models over wasteful adversarial contracts.
Ben has a strong combination of qualifications and expertise spanning technical, legal and managerial aspects of project delivery. He has BSc Civil Engineering, and LL.B Law degrees. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer MICE and has a Project Manager Certification PM3@Siemens
Peter Cartwright | Contracts and Commercial Manager
Peter provides expertise on all commercial aspects from pre-investment decisions to final account, and a variety of contractual and legal issues including contract risk allocation. He has lectured as a guest speaker on pre-contract work and the importance of Tender Lists and facilitated contract strategy workshops. His construction background brings a deep understanding of contracts in all parts of the supply chain. He is a team player with a reputation for coaching, motivating, and managing multi-cultural teams of up to 50 personnel. Peter is at ease negotiating contracts with both clients and contractors within the boundaries of corporate governance.
Peter’s international major projects experience spans over 35 years. He worked in Owner PMC and EPC roles on world-class petrochemical complexes. He has developed, managed and closed-out contracts on several large projects. His experience of Arbitration, High Court and Appeal Court actions has led Peter to advocate a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes quickly and efficiently, increasing the probability of project success. Peter is an expert in contract administration where he has encountered a commonly held belief that daily contract administration is relatively easy, not requiring a high level of skill unless disputes arise - nothing could be further from the truth. Major disputes arise from contract mal-administration. The most difficult disputes are those where unintentionally parties have deviated from the contract.
Peter has a strong combination of qualifications and expertise spanning commercial and practical aspects of project delivery. Peter qualified as a Quantity Surveyor and has MSc in Construction (Contracting) Management which he passed with distinction. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators CIArb.
Ben Alfrink | Project Execution Manager

He has in-depth experience of managing the many practical issues from the project front-line that critically influence project success.
Ben’s international major projects experience spans over 35 years in the oil and gas, energy, shipbuilding and pharma sector for leading industry clients, EPC contractors, and contractors. Recent contributions on major projects include five years concept to completion management of a multi-million-dollar LNG processing facility. He uses insights and work-front lessons-learned to good effect promoting effective execution practices. Ben’s experiences on highly distressed projects drives him to advocate realistic early stage front end planning and development, disciplined application of established project management techniques, and appropriate deployment of latest technologies and practices.
Ben has a strong combination of qualifications and expertise spanning technical, commercial and safety aspects of project management. He has a Project Manager Institute PMP Certification; BEng Shipbuilding / Naval Architecture, and BEng Industrial Economics degrees; MSc International Construction Management, and MSc Safety and Risk Management masters.
